How It Works

From Upload to Report in Three Steps

A complete cephalometric workflow, entirely in your browser.

01
Upload & Calibrate
Load a lateral cephalogram, set true millimetres with two-point calibration, and optimise the image with real-time brightness, contrast, sharpening, and invert controls.
02
Trace 33 Landmarks
Follow the guided landmark sequence — hard tissue, soft tissue, and occlusal points — with zoom, pan, and nudge. Skip optional points, undo or redo any placement.
03
Analyze & Report
All 14 analyses compute instantly against 5 age- and sex-specific norm profiles with deviation flags. Export a print-ready PDF report, CSV, or full JSON backup.

Features

Everything a Ceph Workflow Needs — No Installation

From landmark tracing to the printed report, every step lives in one browser tab.

Landmark Tracing
Place 33 anatomical landmarks — hard tissue, soft tissue, and occlusal — with zoom, pan, nudge, skip, and undo/redo support.
mm Calibration & Ruler
Two-point calibration converts pixels to true millimetres, plus a free ruler tool for measuring any distance on the film.
5 Normative Profiles
Adult male, adult female, mixed, child 8–10y, and adolescent 12–15y norms — with SD-based deviation flags on every measurement.
Image Enhancement
Real-time brightness, contrast, sharpening, and invert controls to optimise any X-ray for accurate tracing.
Patient Database
Unlimited patient records stored right in your browser — tracings, images, and notes, with instant search.
Clinical PDF Reports
Print-ready reports with normative bar charts, cephalogram snapshot, and automatic interpretation of 60+ measurements.
Export & Backup
Download measurements as CSV or export your full patient database as a .json file — restore it anytime.
Optional Cloud Sync
Sign in with Google to sync cases across devices with secure cloud backup — entirely optional, BCeph works without an account.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about BCeph before you start tracing.

Is BCeph really free?+
Yes — BCeph is free during the beta. No subscription, no credit card, and no account is required to start tracing.
Which cephalometric analyses does BCeph include?+
BCeph includes 14 analyses: Steiner, Ricketts, McNamara, Downs, Tweed Triangle, Björk-Jarabak, Wits Appraisal, Eastman, Holdaway Soft Tissue, E-Line, Kim (ODI/APDI), ABO, Nagasaki University, and Radney — all computed instantly from a single tracing.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?+
No. BCeph runs entirely in your web browser — no downloads or plugins. An optional Google sign-in exists only for cloud sync; everything else works without an account.
Where is my patient data stored?+
Locally in your browser, using localStorage and IndexedDB. Your data leaves your device only if you enable optional cloud sync. You can export a full JSON backup or delete your data at any time — see the privacy policy.
How do I calibrate measurements in millimetres?+
Use two-point calibration: click two points a known distance apart on the radiograph's ruler and enter that distance. Linear measurements such as the Wits appraisal and McNamara lengths then report true millimetres.
Does BCeph place landmarks automatically with AI?+
No — landmarks are placed manually by the clinician, by design, so every point is verified by you. Zoom, nudge, and undo/redo make placement fast. BCeph Report, our companion tool, includes an AI clinical assistant for report writing.
What can I export from BCeph?+
A print-ready clinical PDF report with normative charts and a cephalogram snapshot, a CSV of all measurements, and a full JSON backup of your patient database that can be restored anytime.
Does BCeph work on tablets or phones?+
BCeph runs in any modern browser. A desktop or laptop with a mouse or stylus is recommended for precise landmark placement; tablets work well for reviewing cases and reports.
